The Redland Vietnam Veterans’ Group has been in Cleveland since 1997. The group offers our membership mateship and the chance to drop in regularly for a chat and general camaraderie in a relaxed light-hearted atmosphere.

We meet at the Veterans’ Community Centre, Passage Street, Cleveland.

  • Wednesday Drop In: from 12noon Tea, coffee, something to eat and the usual service banter and varied interests are discussed.
  • Art Therapy Classes on Tuesdays 9.30am-12noon. Open to all service members of the RSL and RVVG and their partners. Don’t worry if you don’t know how to draw, paint or create, instruction is free and all art supplies are provided. Come and surprise yourselves.
  • Kayaking trips for the more adventurous who can paddle, the boys meet at Victoria Point Tuesdays & Thursdays from 8.30am

Our membership is made up of veterans’ from a number of local RSL’s and some who are not. We work closely with the Moreton Bay South TPI Association who meet at 11.30am on the 3rd Wednesday of each Month.

The group also offers a variety of social occasions, BBQ’s, mixed social and boys only events as well as a fundraising BBQ at Bunnings.

We also Remember: ANZAC Day, Vietnam Veterans’ Day and Remembrance Day. Our membership holds a commemorative service at the Cleveland Cenotaph annually to remember the six service personnel lost in Vietnam, whose names appear on our cenotaph column. Lest We Forget.

The RVVG has two pensions officers, David and John to assist anyone from any conflict in dealing with DVA. If you need assistance, call the centre 3821-3999; they are available from 10am to 2pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays and other times by appointment.
